From the Bartender
In the Fine Art of Mixing Drinks, D. A. Embury stated "Of all the recipes published for [this drink] I have never seen any two that were alike." The history of this drink dates back to the early 1900s when a Chinese bartender by the name of Ngiam Tong Boon created it while working in a Singapore hotel. Interestingly, his cocktail was originally called the gin sling and his original recipe was lost over time, leaving us with the Singapore Sling we know and love today.
